Central Avenue School was built in 1891, with an addition constructed in 1921.  It served as a school until 1974.  
Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, Central Avenue School was fully updated and converted to apartments in 2007. 
​A second building was also constructed, resulting in a total of 35 one- and two-bedroom apartment units.
